Biography
Nikolas Simou is head of financial reporting at the company, based in its Cyprus office, where he is responsible for delivering high-quality, compliant financial reporting and improving operational efficiency for multinational organisations operating in complex, regulated environments.
He has extensive experience in financial reporting, consolidation and regulatory compliance across the insurance, financial services, and banking sectors. He leads complex group accounting initiatives, including large-scale system implementations and the design of intercompany frameworks to enhance transparency, control, and auditability across multiple jurisdictions. His experience also includes overseeing multi-entity payroll operations, optimising month-end close and consolidation processes, and using tools such as Power BI to support data-driven decision-making. He works closely with senior leadership and external auditors to ensure strong financial governance and adherence to IFRS standards.
Prior to joining the company, Nikolas worked at KPMG Cyprus as an audit manager, leading engagements across the insurance, retail, and banking sectors. During this time, he played a key role in one of the most significant banking transactions in Cyprus, acting as auditor in charge of the sale and purchase agreement and the purchase price allocation.
He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) and holds a first-class degree in accounting and finance from the University of Kent.
