Michael Hughes

Michael Hughes is the head of security across Ascentium's Fiduciary, Funds and Private Client business lines. He is responsible for security across all jurisdictions, defining the security strategy and overseeing the operational security for the business.

He is an accomplished information security professional and leader with over 40 years of experience in risk management, security, and information technology. His approach to information security goes beyond technical controls and has a record of creating a positive attitude toward security measures by demonstrating their business value and ensuring his strategic vision aligns the security initiatives with organisational objectives. He has a proven track record in effecting cultural and technological changes within organisations to enhance information security in alignment with business objectives.

Michael served more than 21 years in the military before moving to the private sector. For the last 20 years, he has worked in both the public and private sectors developing and implementing robust security strategies. He has led security teams and worked as a security consultant in SMEs and large corporations across multiple countries.
