Maria Pia Buchi

 Pia is the Chief Commercial Officer of Ascentium Fiduciary, Funds and Private Client and Deputy Chief Commercial Officer of Ascentium Group. She is responsible for developing the global commercial strategy with a focus on enhancing revenue streams and strengthening client relationships across diverse markets.

With a wealth of experience spanning over 20 years in the financial services industry, Pia brings a nuanced understanding of both emerging and mature markets, ensuring the company remains agile and competitive in an evolving global landscape.

Under Pia’s stewardship, the business has expanded its operations across the Americas. She joined Harneys Fiduciary, which rebranded to Ascentium in 2026, as a Director of Business Development with the remit to expand into the Brazilian market and to work with the existing Montevideo office to solidify a Latin American presence. The successful implementation of the São Paulo office led to Pia setting up the Miami office as the company’s hub for Latin America.

Pia’s achievements led to a promotion of Managing Director in 2018 and then Chief Commercial Officer in 2023. She was previously a partner at Harneys, our strategic alliance partner law firm.

Pia is known for her ability to craft and implement commercially astute strategies that are aligned with the broader corporate objectives, ensuring long-term sustainability and growth. By working closely with cross-functional teams, Pia ensures a cohesive approach to sales, marketing, and client services, driving operational efficiency and delivering value to both clients and stakeholders.

Pia is trained as a Brazilian lawyer and is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
