Ascentium Vietnam joined Ho Chi Minh City Export 2026 - Vietnam’s Outstanding Export Products Fair 2026, held from 22–24 October 2026 at WTC EXPO, following its recent partnership agreement with World Trade Center Binh Duong New City (WTC Becamex).
On the opening day, Alberto Vettoretti, CEO Ascentium ASEAN, Hong Kong SAR, spoke at the forum “Strengthening Collaboration Towards Green Exports.” His presentation, “Agile Supply Chains & Nearshoring: Vietnam’s Export Strategy Amid Diversification,” examined what changing sourcing and investment patterns mean for Vietnamese exporters.
Vietnam’s place in changing supply chains
As global buyers diversify their production and sourcing locations, Vietnam continues to attract interest through its manufacturing base, regional connections and access to international markets through trade agreements.
Alberto outlined how exporters can translate that interest into lasting buyer relationships. Alongside competitive costs, businesses need to demonstrate consistent quality, reliable delivery, traceability and the flexibility to handle smaller or customised orders. Stronger local sourcing and closer relationships with foreign-invested manufacturers can also help Vietnamese suppliers enter global purchasing networks.
Connecting investment flows with export opportunities
Alberto also examined the implications of incoming foreign investment and Vietnamese businesses’ expansion overseas. New investment in Vietnam can create demand for local suppliers, while overseas operations can bring exporters closer to customers and open access to distribution networks.
His presentation set out practical considerations for businesses pursuing these opportunities: increasing local value added, understanding rules of origin, developing engineering and design capabilities, and choosing suitable overseas partners. The emphasis was on building the operational capacity to fulfil orders and sustain growth as market demands change.
From individual businesses to broader cooperation
Following the presentations, Alberto joined a panel discussion with Le Van Dang, Deputy Director, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade; Scott Humanek, Group Director, Technology Operations, Walmart Fulfillment Services; Ma Thanh Loan, CEO, Auxesia Holdings and Permanent Vice Chairman of HOCA; and Jimmy Nguyen, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Arobid.
The discussion considered Vietnam’s position in global supply chains and the role of cross-border e-commerce, green finance and digital platforms in helping exporters reach buyers. It also explored where cooperation among businesses, industry associations, government and international partners can help address barriers to greener exports.
Ascentium Vietnam’s participation followed the MOU signed with WTC Becamex on 29 September 2026, which includes cooperation on market insights, joint events and business connections.
