Biography
Derek Xie is Director, Tax & Advisory at Ascentium Australia with more than 18 years of specialised experience in taxation and business advisory services.
Derek's experience includes advising a broad portfolio of clients on tax structuring, compliance, financial accounting and reporting, ATO disputes, reviews and audits. He regularly assists Australian subsidiaries of Global 500 companies, private wealthy family group, foreign government owned entities to navigate complex tax risks and meet their local compliance obligations and has led numerous domestic tax advisory engagements across a wide range of industries. His experience spans property, financial services, logistics, manufacturing and renewable energy, with a particular specialisation in property and real estate investments and transactions.
Prior to joining Ascentium, he led the National China Practice Group within the Business Services and Private Tax division at a top internatational firm and has extensive experience supporting foreign inbound investments and assets management in Australia, having advised clients from the United States, United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany, China, Singapore, Japan and Korea.
