Room to grow
WRG Design knew it needed to make a move. The company was growing, and so was its need for infrastructure support.
WRG specializes in land planning, civil engineering, and sustainable design. With its expansion from 5 offices to new offices across 11 states and Canada, the company looked at its IT environment and found its Novell NetWare solution lacking.
In emergencies, the WRG IT staff had difficulties finding support. The Novell training they needed was cost-prohibitive and difficult to come by. And with NetWare at the end of its life cycle, ongoing support would become even more problematic.
WRG turned to Ascentium for a solution using Windows Server 2003 and an implementation of Active Directory. When the firm was ready to move forward, Ascentium designed and implemented the migration within the requested timeline. The project came in at 75% of budget, leaving WRG with the option to seek additional support.
With Microsoft technologies in place, WRG Design has a platform to support further growth and new offices. And its IT staff spends less time on administrative tasks and more time on supporting employees—especially as those numbers grow.
