Elite gaming platform
Microsoft understands that good looks and the ability to speak at least 6 languages can get you ahead in the eyes of gamers.
Looking to extend their “Games for Windows” brand, Microsoft turned to Ascentium to develop GamesForWindows.com—a Web site designed to get gamers psyched for the latest titles and to establish Windows Vista as an elite gaming platform. The site’s key goals: (1) deliver the latest from a constantly evolving landscape of developers, publishers, and partners; (2) play to the high visual standards of the gamer audience.
The choice for a platform was clear. Ascentium used Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 to deliver a visually rich user experience and a dynamic means of managing content in multiple languages. Ascentium also helped develop a publishing workflow to cover the entire process from contributors, review cycles, and push-to-live. At launch, the site supported 6 languages and includes plans and supporting scalability for an additional 16 languages.
This Web experience showcases the flexibility of the SharePoint Server 2007 platform: it can deliver an engaging, easy-to-manage site and look good doing it.
