Communicating complexity simply across multiple channels

For more than seven years, Ascentium has helped Cisco clearly communicate the function and value of its complex infrastructure technology to the average person. A recent example: Cisco wanted to promote its Virtual Networking Index (VNI) technology, which measures Internet performance and, by extension, how Cisco improves it.

Ascentium used VNI to develop Global Internet Speed Test (GIST), a free app that iPhone and BlackBerry users can download online to quickly assess their network speed at any given time or place. Users can share test locations with the GIST community to find the places with the fastest speeds and compare cellular and Wi-Fi speeds with users worldwide. GIST grades network performance by speed classifications, including Web Grade, Music Grade, and Video Grade.

GIST is now used in 90 countries around the world and continues to help Cisco demonstrate its value to consumers and technologists alike.
